About us

Our company is a pioneer in innovative measurements of different air pollutants such as In-stack Mercury testing, low concentration particle emission, and remote monitoring (OP-FTIR). The company has ISO/IEC 17025:2017 certification and aspires for ongoing improvement of the quality of its services.

A.S. Research Services works closely with senior consultants at the United Stated Environmental protection agency (US-EPA), consultants of leading companies around the world, the Ministry of Environmental Protection in Israel and more.
Our offices are located in the Jerusalem hills and the company operates all over Israel. Among our clients are factories, environmental consultants, private clients, The Ministry of Environmental Protection, municipalities and environmental regional unions.

A.S. Research Services is the primary contractor of the Ministry of Environmental Protection for pollutant tests.

Company experience

A.S. Research Services has a over 30 year experience in sampling of air pollutants emissions from stationary sources and ambient air. Among our clients are factories, environmental consultants, private clients, The Ministry of Environmental Protection, municipalities and environmental regional unions. In the past few years A.S Research Services has been the primary contractor of the Ministry of Environmental Protection for pollutant tests. The company staff is comprised of people with academic background, professionaly trained for sampling or air quality.

A.S. Research Services Ltd. measures air pollutants using the most advanced methods for stack and environmental testing.
A.S. Research Services is a family owned and operated company, founded in 1991 by Eitan Shpitzer. Since Eitan passed away, the company is directed by his brothers Gilad and Yair Shpitzer, following Eitan’s way and vision.

A.S. Research staff is comprised of selected and professional academics, trained for air quality measurements. Company workers attend professional conferences, seminars and training in Israel and abroad. At A.S. Research Services we take pride in the quality of our work and our professional and unbiased reports.

We measure air quality using official EPA-NSPS, TO, IO and sw846 methods or the official 5097 Israeli standards. We provide consulting services for correct positioning of sampling platforms and ports, to meet the requirements of the Ministry of Environmental Protection. We also provide odor testing and quality assurance of Automated Measuring Systems (AMS).

Certification and accreditation

A.S. Research Services Ltd. is certified by the Israel Laboratory Accreditations Authority for the ISO/IEC 17025:2017 standard in air quality sampling from environmental and stationary sources. Measurements are performed using official methods of the United Stated Environmental protection agency (US-EPA) and the 5097 Israeli standard. A.S. Research services is a member of the American Source Evaluation society (SES).

Gilad Shpitzer

CEO

Works in the field of air sampling and measurements since the establishment of the company in 1991.

CEO since 2005. Graduated from the Department of Atmospheric Sciences, Institute of Earth Sciences, Hebrew University.
Certified by the American SES (Source Evaluation Society) and a graduate of the Stack Sampling and CEMs workshop. Member of the executive board of the Israel society of Ecology and Environmental Sciences from 2005-2008. Expert witness, consultant and lecturer in the field of air quality for various organizations such as the US EPA, CANADA EPA, SCAQMD CA, BAAQMD, the Ministry of Environmental Protection, municipalities, academic institutions and more.

Yair Shpitzer

Vice President

Works in the field of air sampling and measurements since 1995, Vice president of the company since 2005. Functions as VP finance and IT manager of the company.
Certified by the American SES (Source Evaluation Society) and a graduate of the Stack Sampling and CEMs workshop.
Graduate of various professional courses in the field of monitoring equipment, computing and control.

Elad Shelly

CTO and QA manager

Has a B.Sc and M.Sc degree from the Department of Environmental Studies, Hebrew University. Works in the company since 2008 in the field of air quality monitoring. In charge of leading innovation and ongoing improvement in the company, maintaining the company’s stature as leaders in the field of air monitoring in Israel and around the world. Consultant and lecturer in the field of air sampling and measurements. A member of the board.

Baruch Simon

Has a B.Sc degree in Atmospheric Sciences from the Institute of Earth Sciences, Hebrew University. Works in the company since 2010 in the field of air quality monitoring. Manages sampling teams in the company as well as customer relations. Supports the customer personally from order to final report. Member of the board.

Anna Kerbel

Has a B.Sc degree in Environmental Sciences from Hadassah Academic College Jerusalem and an M.A. degree in Environmental Management and Policies of Natural Resources, Hebrew University. Works in the company since 2011 in the field of air quality. Manages all relations with sub-contractors and external laboratories and responsible for analysis reports. Member of the board.

Amit Baor

Head of Calibrations

Has a B.Sc degree in Geology and Environmental Sciences from the Institute of Earth Sciences, Hebrew University and an M.A. degree in Energy Policy and Management from the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Management, Haifa University. Functions as a team leader and head of calibrations in the company. Graduate of various professional courses in the field of calibration and air sampling.

Haim Mizrachi

Safety manager and Senior team leader

Has a B.Sc degree in Marine Sciences and Marine Environment from the Ruppin Academic Center. Works in the company since 2007 and has a vast experience in air quality monitoring from stacks and the environment. Responsible for safety management in the company.
